For many of us, shopping can be a way of relaxing and socialising. However for people with sensory processing conditions, a visit to a shopping centre can be just the opposite.
Piped music and tannoy announcements can lead to sensory overload, meaning that shopping centres can become confusing and intimidating places.
To support our customers with sensory needs, we have in place a Quiet morning, which takes place every Wednesday, where the centre and our retailers turn our music off and will only use the tannoy system for emergencies.
